Nancy Larson went to be with our Lord early Friday morning March 19th, 2021 at her home in Dickey, N.D. with her husband and best friend present with her. She was 68 years old and she and husband Steve would have been married 25 years this coming Christmas eve.

Nancy was born in Warsaw, New York on May 21st, 1952, to Merle and Clarice Brown and grew up in and around Clarence, New York.  She married Steve Larson on December 24th, 1996 at the Dickey United Methodist Church in Dickey, N.D. making their home in the James River Valley about a mile south of town.  They shared five children including her son Daniel (Stacey) Larson, Dickey, N.D. and step children Jared Larson, Fargo ,N.D., Alexis ( Kyle) Evert, Bismarck, N.D., Lucas, (Natalie) Larson, Rock Rapids , Iowa, and Shauna, (Ben), Vorderbruggen, Manvel, N.D.  Nancy thoroughly enjoyed North Dakota and her country living here.  She enjoyed all the various animals that her son had on the farm including Longhorn cattle, horses, goats, mules, burros, sheep and an alpaca. She was especially fond of a donkey named Ruthie! At one time she helped start Mountain View animal shelter in California, also working as a small animal vet tech. Many dogs were involved with her life over the years including her wiener dogs and various rescue dogs. Every outside cat at the farm had a name and a history story she could tell. She liked going to Bar S rodeo and watching her son team rope and work the chutes. She also had a side business called Rodeo Sales where tack purses and decorative country items were sold out of a 30 foot trailer, taking time to make friends with every person that came by her sales tables.

Nancy worked at both the LaMoure supper club and motel. She managed the Marion Cafe, and Jud cafe for about a year each. Nancy and her husband owned and ran the Dog House bar and grill in Jud. N.D for about 3 years.  She was pleased to work as a para educator in Marion School and was very well liked by her students. She loved helping young people.  Nancy was a loving, giving, and supporting wife. She also worked as a highway flagger for approximately 2 years on the same paving crew her husband drove a truck on. Nancy was also Steve's full partner and supporter in Larson Family Trucking.

If you knew Nancy you know she always had a smile and greeting for you. Many younger people she knew called her "Momma Nancy." Nancy loved the serenity of camping with Steve at a lakeside in their 5th wheel. She also loved to fish and would let anyone know she caught the first fish and usually did.

She loved her grandchildren dearly and truly supported them any way she could. She made several family and community photo video slide shows which are on YouTube.

She was a member of Dickey United Methodist church, Her faith was strong and she enjoyed sharing it.

I'll always remember the fun times Nancy and I had growing up from elementary school to high school. We'd be playing baseball and the next thing you know, there's Nancy on the sidelines doing a backflip, a round-off or cartwheel. Spent many times at her house with Nancy, her mom and her cocker spaniel "Penny" and earlier years with her dad. She was always a fun loving good-hearted soul.

I'm so sorry to the Larson family for their loss.
