Sharon Fuher

     Sharon Fuher, 76, of Edgeley, ND, died on September 22, 2023, in Jamestown, ND.

     Sharon Louise Isaacson was born July 14, 1947, in Crookston, MN. She spent her childhood years in Crookston and Leola, SD, with her family finally settling in Edgeley in 1957. She graduated from Edgeley High School in 1965 and the University of North Dakota – Ellendale in 1969.

     Sharon married Arden Fuher of Edgeley, on July 23, 1966, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Edgeley. They made their home in Bottineau, Kulm, and Linton before settling back to Edgeley in 1977 to take over the family farm southwest of Edgeley. Their family was joined by their two boys, Joel and John, shortly after moving to Edgeley.

     Sharon taught junior high and elementary school for 35 years, the last 20 in Edgeley as a fifth-grade teacher, retiring in 2012. She was active in her church and her community, serving on the board of directors of the LaMoure County Summer Musical Theater for many years, and directing the Edgeley High School play as well. She also spent many years in book clubs and playing bunko with friends, and enjoyed hosting family and friends for holiday celebrations.

     Sharon is survived by her husband of 57 years, Arden Fuher, of Edgeley; her son and daughter-in-law, John Fuher and Erin Barry Fuher, of Chevy Chase, MD; her grandchildren Alexis Fuher of Fargo, and Lena, Kellogg, and Patrick Fuher of Chevy Chase; her brother and sister-in-law, Spencer and Joann Isaacson, of Edgeley; her sister-in-law, Mavis Fuher, of Bismarck; her brother-in-law, Robert Lamp, of Fargo; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

     She was preceeded in death by her son, Joel Fuher; her parents, Marvel and Earl Isaacson; her sisters, Muriel Lamp and Norrine Horsager; her brothers-in-law, Eugene Fuher and Alan Horsager, and her mother and father-in-law, Mercia and Joseph Fuher.

     A funeral celebration of Sharon’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Edgeley, ND.  Sharon will be buried at a later date in Edgeley.
